Customized Oven for Fiberglass Manufacturing Customer

One of our clients is a fiberglass manufacturer who used pultrusion, a process for continuous manufacturing of composite materials. As the pultrusion process is complex and fiberglass manufacturing requires a specific airflow in the oven, our customer realized the oven they were using was not adequately maintaining temperature consistency and they were not getting the results they required.

The customer needed left to right airflow to pass across the rack inside the oven. The manufacturing process coats paint on every surface except the ends of the piece, and then stacked on racks with very little space in between in order to maximize oven density. Since the current oven they were using had top to bottom airflow, the center of the racks were not getting the appropriate airflow and heat they needed. The customer needed a custom solution for the oven to provide the airflow they required.

Our engineering team designed a custom oven that provides a left to right airflow before circulating around the oven. The new oven allows them to ensure the fiberglass is being produced efficiently and within the temperatures required during the pultrusion process. It maintains the correct temperatures with airflow moving left to right before circulating so that the center of the oven has the same functionality as the top and bottom.

With the new oven, our customer has maximized their fiberglass output and is extremely happy with the results. They are more efficient and not losing heat or spending additional time due to inconsistent oven temperatures. With the complexities of the fiberglass manufacturing process, they need a reliable and consistent oven to ensure their production isn’t disrupted. Rohner has an experienced team of engineers who can help with custom projects like this one – talk to our team to find out how we can help enhance your manufacturing process.
