Specialty Enclosure for Automotive Manufacturing

One of our automotive manufacturing clients was using a cross-draft booth for their finishing process but needed an enclosure for drivability testing including engine and transmission testing post-assembly. They needed an enclosed space with two lanes that captures exhaust and pumps contaminated air outside to ensure the health and safety of their team.

The Rohner team was brought in to determine the best configuration for their facility footprint and production requirements. We designed a two-lane enclosure that would allow them to run testing of the engines, transmissions, and provide a seamless testing area for their last step in the assembly process.

The vehicles are shipped from Japan pre-painted white, so any additional logos, company colors, or designs are finished in the cross-draft liquid paint booth, then moved into the specialty enclosure for the drivability testing prior to leaving the factory.

Our team was able to help them create the proper airflow in the specialty enclosure with closed doors to manage testing for two vehicles at one time, while seamlessly integrating the new enclosure into their existing finishing system.

If you are facing challenges in your finishing process, talk to our team. We can help with integrating new equipment, replacing aging equipment, or designing a new finishing system for your process. Talk to our team to get started.
