Powder Coating Line Collaboration
Rohner partnered with Anchor Fabrication on a recent project – a new powder coating line for the Anchor Fabrication Tennessee facility. Anchor identified a need to invest in a new powder coating line to add capabilities as well as increase capacity at the facility. They were looking for a partner to deliver advanced coating solutions for their operations.
The Solution
Anchor selected Rohner to design and install the new system. Working together from the initial quote through to the final installation, the teams ensured that project targets were met at a price that would allow for a quick return on investment. The partnership was so efficient that the system was fully operational within just six months of the original quote.
The System
The final system was engineered for flexibility and high throughput, handling parts up to 8’ W x 8’ H x 11’ L and 2,000 lbs. To meet production demands, Anchor invested in a complete powder coating line with future plans to double production with a second identical system. The meticulous, end-to-end process was planned to include:
- Manual pre-wash process in a wash enclosure
- Automatic wash process in a wash enclosure
- High-temperature dry-off oven, followed by a cool-down
- Preparation enclosure
- Primer application booth
- High-temperature primer gel oven, followed by a cool-down
- Topcoat application booth
- High-temperature topcoat cure oven, followed by a cool-down
Rohner also integrated third-party components, including a Riveer automatic and manual recycling chemical wash system.
The Result
Both Anchor and Rohner were pleased with the outcome of the collaboration, which resulted in a smooth start-up and implementation. Most importantly, the powder coating line delivered on its promise of a rapid return on investment. By reducing outsourcing requirements, Anchor provided faster and higher quality service to their customers and achieved a significant ROI.
