One of our clients is a sports equipment manufacturer who was using a finishing system that was under-sized for their production needs. They needed to integrate new equipment including additional and larger equipment to accommodate their increasing production. Finishing Process Challenges
One of their biggest challenges was managing wastewater in their finishing process. Water contamination in upstate New York is highly regulated and monitored, and their current process to maintain compliance was very cumbersome. They had tanks holding and evaporating wastewater, followed by a removal process that was inefficient and expensive. They wanted to reduce waste and the chemical impact on the environment with their new system.
Other challenges were the size of their current equipment and production capacity. They needed new, oversized finishing equipment to handle larger components as well as new part preparation equipment.
Solutions for Increased Production
Our team was able to integrate a new wash enclosure and dry-off oven into their existing system, as well as two large powder booths and two large cure ovens. This allowed their team to more than double their production and capacity as well as accommodate larger components for finishing. The expansion of their finishing system increased efficiencies, production volume, and capacity for their facility, while also enhancing their environmental compliance and safety.
